Firm Profile
Our team of lawyers, clerks and paralegals aim to provide quality service at a reasonable price. We are efficient and ensure that in our areas of practice the client's best case is put forward. We endeavour to keep our practice in the GTA area, Brampton, Orangeville, Newmarket, Milton, Guelph, Kitchener, Arthur, Wellington, and Fergus although we will attend other courts in Ontario depending on the type of case and if the clients are prepared to provide enhanced funding for travel and overnight accommodation if necessary.
In Immigration cases our careful assessment of the case enables us to provide reliable advice. In permanent residency applications our appeal work in the Federal Court gives us the edge in determining all the flaws in the case and correcting them prior to embarking on the application. This is especially important in investor and entrepreneur applications. In appeal cases we ensure that all the evidence is before the appeal tribunal as timely disclosure to the IRB is critical. In appeal work we ensure the appellants are well prepared for their appeal hearing. In deportation cases we will only accept retainers where there is a reasonable chance of staying the deportation. We do not encourage judicial reviews in the Federal Court if the chance of succeeding is low as that would be a waste of the client's financial resources without any reasonable chance of a result. However if there is a reasonable chance of success we will present all the available arguments to maximize the chance of success.
In Personal Injury cases no fees are paid until the case settles. If there is zero settlement the client pays nil. We are able to do this as we are very careful in our assessment of the case so that we can be confident our client will receive adequate compensation and our fees will be recovered. Motor Vehicle Accident law has changed no less than 4 times in the last 18 years. We are very familiar with the new law and the challenges that Bill 198 poses for us and our clients. We aim to be creative in increasing the strength of our client's case in this challenging environment. We also ensure that our support team are on top of the files and the volume of paperwork that is involved in a typical personal injury action. We work on our files to make them trial ready in order to maximize the chance of achieving a reasonable settlement for pain and suffering/pass and future loss of income if applicable. We aim to make sure our client's know the procedures and to avoid all the pitfalls involved in a personal injury action to increase the likelihood of a result.
In Criminal Law cases we do a very thorough analysis of the issues in order to determine whether the client's charter rights have been violated-right to counsel/delay/unlawful search and seizure amongst others. Our aim is to present all the legal arguments and make the right tactical decisions that are necessary to present full answer and defence. We aim to provide the client with fixed fees so that they know up front what the costs will be for all of the summary conviction cases that we do. In Indictable cases it is difficult to offer fixed fees but we do provide a range of costs.
